Learn From History
If there's only one thing you take away from this site, I would hope it's the knowledge that if we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. History has taught us that there are always tyrants that want nothing more than absolute power. These people have done horrific things in their attempts to achieve their goals. Why do the people ignore what is happening now?
- Hitler
- Stalin
- Mao Zedong
Adolf Hitler is a name synonymous with hatred and fear. When people see his image or hear his name, the first thing that comes to mind is the holocaust. His rise to power is well documented and historical fact. One of the things that must be brought to the front is that Hitler was a known liar. He made the claim that he was the seventh party member of the German Workers' Party. This was proven false. He was the 55th party member.
After the party changed its name to the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party, NSDAP) Hitler began to make his move for power. He spoke out as early as 1921 against Marxists and Jews.
Hitler did threaten to resign from the NSDAP during a revolt among the leadership. They knew that losing Hitler would have meant the end of the party. Hitler stated that he would stay as long as he replaced Drexler as party chairman, with unlimited powers.
This was noticed and a pamphlet started circulating titled 'Adolf Hitler: Is he a traitor?' The pamphlet attacked Hitler's desire for power. Hitler sued and won. Eventually, Hitler gained control over the party and was introduced as the Führer of the NSDAP.
Hitler was also a tax cheat. He spent years dodging royalty taxes on his book Mein Kampf and had a debt of about 6 million euros by the time he became chancellor. The tax debt was waived.
Let's not forget that Hitler had been arrested and charged with high treason after a failed military coup. He was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison. He was released after a little more than a year, pardoned by the Bavarian Supreme Court.
Hitler did rebuild the NSDAP after his release. Leaders in the party were not elected, but appointed, as Hitler disdained democracy. All power and authority in the NSDAP went from the top down.
Hitler knew he would have to come to power legally, adhering to the rules of the Weimar Republic. The turning point came when the Depression hit Germany in 1930. Hitler gained German citizenship in 1932 and was eligible to run for president. He lost his first attempt, but was appointed Chancellor in 1933.
Hitler stopped his opponents from gaining a majority in parliament. He tried to persuade Hindenburg to dissolve the Reichstag but was unable to do so. Elections were scheduled for early March, but on February 27,1933, the Reichstag was set on fire. The communists were blamed, but this is where events become important.
The government reacted with the Reichstag Fire Decree which suspended basic rights, including habeas corpus. Does this sound familiar? It should. The USA PATRIOT Act did very much the same thing. The whole thing reeks of a False Flag set up by Hitler himself to further his push for power.
The Enabling Act came next. This would have given Hitler legislative powers for a period of four years. It did pass and political opposition were banned or forced to dissolve themselves. Finally, the NSDAP was the only legal party in Germany.
Hindenburg died in 1934. The German constitution required new elections, but Hitler's cabinet declared the presidency vacant and all powers were transferred to Hitler as Führer und Reichskanzler (leader and chancellor). The military had to swear loyalty to Hitler now, not just the holder of the office.
At this point, I simply must discuss Eugenics. The Nazi eugenics program was based on the United States forced sterilization programs. Yes, the United States had eugenics programs. Hitler took it to the extreme and believed that only the strong should survive. Social Darwinism at it's worst. Hitler praised Sparta because of the ancient city's selective infantcide policy.
The world holocaust often brings Jews to mind as many scholars did not like to include others in their documentation of the events in Nazi Germany. Yes, many Jews died during that time, however, they weren't the only ones. Anyone considered unworthy by Hitler's standards were killed. Ethnic Poles, Romani, Soviet civilians and prisoners of war, the disabled, mentally ill, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Freemasons, and other political and religious opponents were also targeted. Many women were forcibly sterilized for reasons as ridiculous as a relative not doing well in school.
To further the shock, some Americans were actually for this slaughter. IBM produced the punch card machines that catalogued and tagged each prisoner in the concentration camps. The first computers were invented by a eugenicist for eugenics, and it was an American corporation that did it.
The best documentary that I have ever seen on Hitler is The Nazis: A Warning From History (1997). It explains how the Germans accepted Hitler and the Nazis. It does reflect things that are happening today. If a mass awakening does not occur, we're going to find ourselves in a similar situation.
Joseph Stalin brought Communism to Russia. We know that. How did he do it? He began a revolution by taking over the Pravda, the newspaper in Russia. He supported overthrowing the government and the attempt was made. The Bolsheviks were captured, but later freed to help defend St. Petersburg. They chose, instead, to help form a coup of the government. It succeeded by November 9, 1917. This is also called the October Revolution.
Stalin began a rise to power that made Lenin nervous and even recommended Stalin's removal. Lenin was able to see where Stalin was heading. When Lenin died, Stalin suppressed the documentation. Stalin isolated political enemies and had them removed from power.
The purges occurred where many people were arrested, tortured, and executed. These people may have been Stalinists, but there's no way to know. They may have been political enemies, but again, there's no way to know. What we do know is that at least 1,710,000 were arrested, at least 1,440,000 were sentenced, and at least 724,00 were executed. We also know that the same people, the Bolsheviks, who had played important roles in helping Stalin rise to power were completely wiped out. All the members of the original Politburo during the 1917 Revolution, except for Stalin, were executed or assassinated.
Mao was behind the Autumn Harvest Uprising. While the first attempt was defeated, he reorganized and tried again. The new army managed to include other insurgents, creating the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of China. The Soviet Republic of China was created and he was elected Chairman.
Mao did approve of torture used on anyone who he suspected was against his policies. Going on the low estimate, tens of thousands were likely tortured as a result. A higher estimate, perhaps almost 150,000 people were tortured and/or killed.
The People's Republic of China was established on October 1, 1949. Chairman Mao still held control. The media was controlled and censored. Only favorable images of Mao and the Communist Party were allowed. The Nationalists, as well as America and Japan, were vilified and people were taught to dislike them.
Land reform occurred under Mao's leadership which resulted in landlords being beaten to death while their land was taken and given to poorer people. There were public executions targeting Kuomintang officials, businessmen, and former employees of Western companies. Mao actually claimed once that a total of 700,000 people were killed during the years 1949 to 1953. However, because of a policy to kill at least one landlord in every village at a public execution, the number is likely between 2 to 5 million. Labor camps were used in an attempt to reform people, so add another possible 3 million to that figure now.
Again, I draw attention to David Rockefeller's Quote from the New York Times.
"The social experiment in China under Chairman Mao's leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history. How extensively China opens up and how the world interprets and reacts to the social innovations and life styles she has developed is certain to have a profound impact on the future of many nations."
David Rockefeller, New York Times, 1973
And this is the kind of society that David Rockefeller would have us live in. Unbelievable.
